Anna Roan Ministries exists to bring people and horses together by way of lessons, community, and volunteering.
We believe that horses have the capacity to heal, encourage, and strengthen us. Our ministry was born out of the want to connect people with horses. Making the dream of learning to ride a reality. Providing the opportunity to work with horses, learning the value of community, while also sharing faith in Christ.
How it Works
Riding Lessons
There are few ways we serve our community. One is paying for riding lessons through a scholorship program. Those who are selected will receive a scholarship for the first month of riding lessons at no cost to them. But through community involvement and volunteering, participants have the opportunity to earn credits to pay for continued lessons. It’s a great way to get involved in the community and help others. Volunteer opportunities will also be listed on our website.
We outsource riding lessons to other barns and trainers in the area. If you are selected for our program. We will do our best to send you to a barn closest to you. Anna Roan Ministries’ involvement in the lessons would be limited to mainly providing the cost in the form of scholarships. No one from our ministry will accompany you to the lessons.
Equine Activities
The second option is fun equine activities or “therapy” sessions. Which are more geared to a relaxing and rejuvenating, or fun experience with horses. These will not usually involve riding.
Camps
We also select a sponsorship each summer for a horse camp.
Who is it for?
Anyone who is passionate about horses or yearns for the opportunity to learn to ride or be around horses. Our program is open to children and adults alike. Except for the horse camps, those will only be offered to ages up to 18. But if you have ever dreamt of learning to ride a horse or simply be around horses and could never make it happen, this program is for you.
Our Why
Anna Roan was a baby that was born to Rachel and Andrew Brown of Tontitown, Arkansas. She lived 112 minutes before passing from the arms of her mother to the arms of Jesus. Her legacy was love, faith, and inspiration. She was a dream come true for this family, but that dream was cut short.
As a lifelong horse lover, Rachel has seen and experienced the peace and love that horses bring. Anna Roan Ministries was born out of a want for others to experience that. And without the cost standing in the way of a dream come true.
